Advice about going on train alone, i'm 15?

I need advice, can you tell me everything I need to know please? How do I buy tickets and what would I say if I wanted a child return ticket. Can it be a same day any time return ticket or does it have to be a fixed time? How do I know which train to get on? And where to get off?Advice about going on train alone, i'm 15?
if your in the UK at 15 your are still classed as a child, unlike elwood who said it is 14, so you are able to get a child ticket

firstly if your travelling and returning the same day, then provided you are happy travelling outside peak hours (these vary) then you may get a cheap day return ticket, if you have days stop over you can get open return( top price ticket but no restrictions), business saver (cheaper few restrictions) or super-saver (cheapest walk up but with more restrictions), if you book in advance your parents can book cheap tickets but they are restricted to 1 train and one train only

when you arrive at the station check on the main departure board, this will tell you where the trains destination is, with all the calling points, and what platform it leaves from and what time and any delays, there are usually plenty of sign's which will point you in the direction of platforms, if you not sure then DO ask the staff that is what we are here for and believe me we get plenty of people who ask

when you get on the train and found your seat make sure you listen to all the announcements they are there for your benefit, they should give you the list of stops and safety announcements.

when the train is arriving into a station there will be an announcements a couple of minutes before arriving this gives people plenty of time to get their stuff together to alight from the train.

if your not going for a few days why not, if possible pop down to the train station you are departing from and familiarise yourself with what's around.

use the planner on link gives you rough idea of time trains, length of journey and station calling points

this will give you most trainsAdvice about going on train alone, i'm 15?
As per the answer i gave on your other question (see below) - you will know when to get off as the announcer will say on a loud intercom that you are arriving at Birmingham New Street.

';Its all very easy. There are machines that do the job but the best bet is to go into the station and go to the cash desk. You simply ask for a child day return to birmingham new street. If you wanted to go today but come back another day then ask for an open return. After they give you the ticket be sure to ask which platform your train is on and what time the next train leaves.

You can also check on www.nationalrail.co.uk and in the journey planner type in the leaving station (wolverhampton) and destination (birmingham) and the sort of time you want to leave....this will tell you when all the trains are and give you an idea of when to go to the station. I'd try and get there 15 minutes before the train leaves to allow yourself to get the tickets.

Hope this helps, enjoy the trip!!';
If you're 15 and in the UK, that's too old for a child return - they're only valid till age 14. However if you look young, you might get away with it (don't tell them I said this). If returning the same day you can get a day return.

At the station the train will be announced over the PA. At some smaller stations the PA is a small speaker on a stand with a button to press. Most stations have digital signs above the platform which show when the train is coming. On the train there will be a PA too, announcing the stops as the train approaches. So keep one ear open, even if you're tuned into iPod.
dear sir thank you very much for not tellins where you

are located! it make it harder to answer your question

are you in the US (yes 15 can ride along) but in th UK

rules could be diffenert but since you dont state what city or nor

what city or what country you are how do you expect an answer?

I know amtrak allows 15 years to biy ticket but it will have to be adult

';Can I have a child return to XXX please?';

You can always ask someone where to get on and off but you can't miss birmingham new street - it's dark and underground and ugly as sin
