Ok, yes, your mouth will be a little sore for a few days, just take nyquill, or some other pain releiver, and the soreness will go away. You wont be able to eat popcorn, or foods of that nature since they will get stuck in your gums, no gum or chips either. This is all I know, my sister was the ones with braces, not me, I hope this helped though.Hi, I get braces in three days. Anyone that has braces I need your advice about whats go happen.Do it hurt?
Yes, it does kind of hurt. Not getting them on, though that's a little uncomfortable. But after, you'll be sore, and you might not be able to eat certain foods for a couple days (even eating rice hurt me! I stuck to soup, yogurt, and other liquidy foods.) Before you get them put on, and for as long as you need, take a pain reliever like Advil every couple of hours. The wires may also poke into the side of your mouth towards the back a little; the doctor will probably give you some wax that you can put on the ends--do it.
You may also just have a weird feeling in your mouth, since it's basically having a foreign object there. But in a couple days you'll feel more comforable, and after a couple weeks you won't even notice they're there.
You will have to go back to get them tightened periodically, and it does hurt a little after they get tightened, but not as badly as at first.
Just as a side note, the doctor will give you a list of things you shouldn't eat, like gum, taffy, Starburst candies, and popcorn. Listen to him. If you eat these things, it is highly likely that you will break your braces. Not only is this uncomfortable, it also increases the time you will have to have them on.
It sounds bad, but trust me--it's SO worth it to have beautiful teethHi, I get braces in three days. Anyone that has braces I need your advice about whats go happen.Do it hurt?
Putting them on doesnt hurt a bit; until they put the wire on. The wire puts pressure on ur teeth so they go into where they r supposed to be. You will feel pain the most when you are eating, so eat soft stuff for the first few days and the same after you get them adjusted. And when they put the brackets (the part that is ';colored';), they put a lot of cotton rolls in your mouth. I really dont know why but yeah they do that. Honestly, i say getting them adjusted after the first month with braces will hurt the most. Then you MIGHT get used to it every month. So, to reduce the pain, just take a tylenol or some pain reliever. I take tylenol and it works great; but it will still hurt when you eat.
Well their going to make sure that their's no saliva in your mouth and suck it all out. Then glue the brackets to your teeth and put special covering things on your back teeth, like the wisdoms. They'll ask you what color you'ld like it to be. I always ask for clear. Then theyy'll put a wire through your teeth and tighten it. The day you get your braces on they shouldn't hurt a lot. They should be a little tense. The next day, though they will hurt and you need to only eat soft foods, no hard foods or it will make your gums feel so tender. This sensitivity can last for about 4 days. Your teeth will feel really loose, like their going to fall out. .Each time you get them tightened, the day after they'll be sore. But, in the end, it is all worth it. Your teeth will be perfect and you'll have a great smile. People usually have braces for atleast a year. Remember to brush and take good care of your braces. I promise you one day you'll be so happy that you got braces.
It doesn't hurt when they put them on. It will be a little sore after 4-6 hours so take a painkiller right after you get your braces so it doesn't hurt. Well here is the information you need to know (check out the websites it will help).

I have braces yes they hurt when they go on, there not so painful after a few weeks but then you have to get them tightend witch makes them hurt again also the metal will more then likely rub against the side of your mouth makeing it all cut and hurt but you get over it and its worth it.
Its gonna hurt for the fist week but ul get used to it. Also every 3 months ul go for tightening - after every of those appointments it will be sore for about 2 days. But ul be taking painkillers so the soreness is minor
Braces do hurt when you first get them on. It could take about four or five days to get used to them. After all they feel normal, until you go get them tightned. When you tighten them they hurt and you cant eat for the rest of the day. (ask for late appt)
It depends-for some people it hurts like heck. For me, it was just uncomfortable and annoying. I'd suggest eating only soft foods for a few days (bread, soup, jello, ice cream...) until you're used to the braces.
