MEN please(& ladies too), my husband needs some advice about dressing for teaching interview in a prison?

He recently acquired his teaching license and is interviewing for a Business %26amp; Technology Teacher position in a prison. A couple of years ago, before his education degree was finished, he was granted an interview for another prison teaching position. He wore a suit and tie. He came back from the interview feeling quite overdressed as the interviewers were dressed business-casual. He didn't get the job, but he hadn't finished his teaching requirements at that time. He has a brand new opportunity at another prison and is interviewing Friday. We are uncertain if he should go with the suit %26amp; tie again or opt for business casual. I'm thinking he needs to suck it up and wear the suit %26amp; tie again??

Also, we would appreciate prayers and positive energy our way from anyone reading this query. We have been waiting literally years for this opportunity to be granted. He worked full time and was deployed for 2 years (additionally!) while he attended school for this. Thank you!!MEN please(%26amp; ladies too), my husband needs some advice about dressing for teaching interview in a prison?
How about nice pants, nice shirt, tie and a sports coat? That's professional while casual at the same time.MEN please(%26amp; ladies too), my husband needs some advice about dressing for teaching interview in a prison?
The best thing to do for ANY job interview, is to dress for one position higher than you are applying for. If, once he gets there, he is over-dressed, he can always play it off jokingly somehow. A lightened mood will only enhance the interview for both parties.
A suit and tie show that he's serious about the position. He can worry about company dress code later.
Teaching is a professional career. A suit and tie are required during professional job interviews. His attire after beginning to work there may certainly not be suit and tie. But, he needs to wear that for his interview. It is an error not to. Whenever in doubt, always dress UP, never DOWN for an interview. Relax. Stop stressing about IF he's going to get the job. Start getting pumped up and steady and prepared for the NEXT step when he gets the job. That positive forward imaging proves most effective at attracting success. Good fortune to you, your husband and your family.
Having just entered the job market maze the first thing i did was talk to a long time friend who is a HR staffer for a major firm. And i asked her what to wear for and interview. She said drop the suit forget the tie. That's old school in to days work place its about looking smart and being comfortable. I believe my friend and her advise dress smart, look good. And relax you shouldn't be over dressed to the point of being uncomfortable during the interview and ask what the dress code is required for work.

I dressed the way she suggested. sports jacket, shirt no tie and dress slacks. The interview was 20 mins long and i was hired on the spot. When i asked what the dress code or requirements were for the job i was informed i was over dressed and could drop the sports coat.

Tell your hubby to dress in whats comfortable to him a sports coat or sweater and shirt with a pair of dress slacks or casual pants is fine.
I would suggest that your husband wear a dress shirt and pants, with a blazer. If he likes wearing a tie, then he could wear it. He needs to look professional, but not so over dressed, that he would likely be rejected by inmates. Then, when he gets the job, he can ask about proper dress code. I pray to Heavenly Father that your husband will soon be given the job that he wants and needs, in order to take care of his family. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. God Bless you both.
i got it...a hard hat and a bullet proof vest.
If he was uncomfortable, it would show. How about a pair of khakis with a navy blazer with a tie? Gosh - much luck and many blessings for you.
