What was the best old fashioned advice you got about marriage and men?

Don't settle for less than a man who makes you feel like you are the most important person in his world.What was the best old fashioned advice you got about marriage and men?
Don't know if this true old fashioned advice, but my Grandma told me when I was a little girl and broke up with my first ';boyfriend'; (at the tender age of 8:) ), ';He ain't worth cryin' over unless he stole your pick-up truck.';

Sage grandma advice. I offer that advice up to my broken-hearted friends often:)What was the best old fashioned advice you got about marriage and men?
Wives need to remember that men like a feminine woman. So many women get married, and dress like android persons. Gone are the pretty dresses, short skirts and low cut tops. No more perfume lingerie, and god forbid, high heeled shoes! Guys love their woman to wear these things.

Show off some stuff girls- guys get aroused by the look of a woman! Men want to be seduced! Go get your man! Give him that bj he really wants!
Best advise I got was from my parent. Not in words, but in deeds. They divorced when I was in 7th grade and it was a terrible time for me. So I gave myself advice:

';Don't do what they did.';

Happily married for 23 years.
My wife and I where given the following advise before we got married that proved to be very true:

';There are 3 things that can ruin a marriage; sex, money, and in-laws';
I was told that men had little monsters in their pants that made them do stupid things. It wasn't until I grew up and became a man that I truly understood what that meant.

I think with my wiener.
Let them chase you. If a man is interested, he will make sure you know it. If he acts like he's not interested - he probably isn't.
Don't start nothing you can't finish.....
Mom once said, ';better make your man happy or he will go elsewhere to get happy.';
Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire.
Just smile and nod
