Do get the best results do 1 set for the upper body and 3-sets for the lower body. A recent research study showed this lead to the best strength gains.What advice can you give me about lifting weights?
If you are going to lift weights you must first all and most importantly, have an experienced supervisor, he know how to start you off lifting weights because you will hurt yourself irreparably if you don't know what you are doing.





The most common mistakes people make is bending their backs to lift weight regardless of how heavy the weights are, OK you will get away with lifting light weights bending your back, you tend to get into the habit of doing this one day you are required to lift a heavier weight.





This is when you hurt yourself because you didn't learn the proper way to lift any weight at all.


I you are going to lift weights you should always keep you back straight at all times during the lift! if you can't lift the weight doing this then abandon the lift all together.
when u lift weights its better to have less weight and do more reps then to have a lot of weight and do only a few reps. a good thing to do is start out with a certain weight and do 30-50 reps for a week to two weeks then move up in weight and do 30-50 reps and so on.. that helps build muscles.
