I need advice about a lip piercing...?

I've wanted a lip piercing for a long time, just a ring on the side of my lip, not snakebites or anything else. However, my parents are totally 100% against it and won't hear about it. I'm going off to college out-of-state at the end of August, and my first plan is to get my lip pierced since I'll be 18 and away from home. If I were to come home at Thanksgiving time (I would get it done right away at the end of August), would I be able to take my lip ring out during the day while I'm visiting with my parents and put it back in at night? Should it be healed enough to do so? Is this a bad idea for the hole itself--will it stretch it out or irritate it with taking it out/putting it in for a week or two?

Yeah, I think it would be healed enough by Thanksgiving. Normally it is the first 4-6 weeks that you can't take it out. Whether or not it would show when out would depend on the size of the ring. If it is small they probably wouldn't notice b/c I usually don't notice when people take their rings out unless they have larger posts. Only bad thing is some peoples get infected and then you have scars and scar tissue is possible. It it very close to your mouth. The mouth has lots of bacteria and can infect the piercing.I need advice about a lip piercing...?
Yes, youll be able too. lip piercings heal relatively fast, and if you get it done in august, by november it will most likely(i wont say positively because everyone heals different!)be healed. you might need to push through the back skin a little, no big deal,but it definately will not close in one day. on a last note though, youll be 18, meaning an adult, your parents wont like alot of decisions you make, but being an adult means learning things on your own, just remember that.i personally wouldnt take it out, but i dont know your parents! lol
Lip piercings take anywhere from six weeks up to a year to fully heal. If you get the piercing in August the piercing won't be healed enough to take the jewelry out for the day. Doing so could cause the hole to close. It can take up to 1-2 years before you will be able to remove the jewelry for periods longer than a day at a time. Even then you might not be able to take it out for very long. Lip piercings tend to close up very quickly (most in a matter of minutes or hours). Since your parents are against the piercing you could always get a clear retainer it will hide the piercing to an extent. This will also help with the risk of the hole closing.

they'll see it either way when they visit you it might be unexpected to..I'd rather save my money towads a trip or something more exciting than having someone stick a needle in mouth the a piercing ..I dont understand it why does one do that, to them selves I was just wondering..?


its up tp you in the end though, just be careful what you eat who you kiss becasue an open mouth wth a hole in it, if infected blood tranfers to it or herpes or some sort of mouth disease such as that I would feel really bad for you,,just please keep all that into consideration.


when we're young we like to do things against our better judgemnt at times, I have to but its not something I could look bak on and say man I'm glad I did that, I regret mpst of the stuff I did when I was younger like having sex at 17 against to get bacxk at my mom's , having 2 abortions in school for the first, alone on my own wrong type 2nd, moving to philadelphia one of the deadliest places in the world, these are some oft he tihngs I regret, I wish my mom cared enpough of me to even help pay for my school yet i was unimportant to her she had the money its just my yuonger brother was more important than me, I'm not jealous just stating the facts, now I'm doing ok on my own soon will be an admistratinve assistant or secretary, or maybe a witress whicever job hires me first, but i have somen in my life who cares hes not there finacilly not that i expect that but hes there sometimes financially, and he theres spritually a lot, so he helped though a lot of confused togh feelings I was having and I can truly appreciate that.


all I 'm really saying is with anything that takes place in your young life eventually catches up as you grow, and you want fond memories not ones of torture i have tatto looks beautiful yet i want my skin clear again i cant unless i shell out a few hundred maybe somedy i will..the tat is ok i just wish i wouldve truly thought about the consequences, the consequences are what makes or breaks a person its the after that really matters in the end the after the fact of this or that..before it happens,best if luck to and \please give the folks a break i'm cetain theyve been ther done thst and are a kind of guru for you not to repeat their mistakes..
