I was wondering if this is an ultra hard thing to learn how to play?
Also, what should I look into buying? Is there any kind thats good for a beginner?Im thinking about getting a guitar and learning how to play... advice needed.?
i would recommend you buying a decent guitar 80-100$ and like one of the other people said, find a few songs you might like to learn on youtube and try it out. you can also try ultimateguitar.com(if you know how to read tabs)
one thing that automatically makes people give up on guitar is that you have to do the boring stuff(learn chords, strumming, timing, etc.) til you can do the fun stuff. luckily i didnt give up and i can play awesome songs now :D. most people start by learning the G, C, and D chords. 90% of all the songs you will end up playing will have at least 1 of those 3 chords in it.
also if you do find out that you want to go further and really start to learn hwo to play i would recommend getting a guitar teacher. you can get one for about 15-25$ for 30min/1 hr( the price and time depends on how good the teacher is)
if you want to know more just send me a message i'd be glad to answer any questions you have.Im thinking about getting a guitar and learning how to play... advice needed.?
Don't rent. It will end up costing you more if you decide that you want to keep playing. You'll have to play for at least 12 months before you decide whether you want to continue or not. If you buy you can always sell it on eBay or to a friend. There is always someone around who wants to learn to play the guitar. Rule of thumb: never rent when you can buy - that goes for everything in life (cars, homes, etc).
i taught myself everything i know, and i've had my guitar for a little over a year now, and i'm actually pretty good, but my friend took lessons for the longest time and she totally sucks.
haha, it's a matter of how much effort you'll put into it and how good of rhythm you have for strumming.
get a guitar that feels good.
go into a music store and try a few out.
at first, look on Youtube to learn how to play and learn chords and stuff.
once you know how to read tabs, go onto ultimate-guitar.com to learn songs :]
good luck!
Well for free lessons..
Youtube.com is a good place
seriously it is i learnt there and im pretty good.
Try it
don't buy, see if you can rent one or if you can borrow one....my english teacher randomly let me borrow her daughters lol so it worked out. if you want to learn, your best bet is getting a teacher. go to poppler's or scott's, or maybe an older sibling or friend can teach you if you know how. don't buy a guitar until you get good and you know you want to keep playing.
i baught my guitar with my own money, i baught an epiphone les paul 100...great guitar. i never took lessens (lessons are too excpencive) i taught myself how to read tabs, and i also use youtube.... go to guitarcenter.com and see the guitars they have, you can see the guitar, the ratings, the price and all...or go to a guitar center near you, i wasnt planning on buying my guitar i wanted another one but they were sold out of that 200$ dollor guitar so the maneger gave me a sweet deal on this one :) that dude is the best manager ever lol.....go to www.guitarcenter.com
Don't rent!!!
You can alway's sell it;)
