Being a person with little or no schooling...I would say it sounds more like your looking for an excuse not to work ,or your just bored , your looking through the rear veiw mirror
What would it change if you went back to school...?, would it change your income...Having Knowledge can impower you, but using it as an excuse too keep from facing your failures is not a good reason....if you really want to make a change, get a secound job in the industry or field of your choice, ';no matter'; if it is the job you want or not';, but before you waste another few years in school just to hide from the real world, I would suggest you find out if you really want to go that direction. If it is truely what you want by all means do it.
We all get bored at our jobs at some point....most jobs are only stepping stones to what we will come to be... In reality I couldn't even tell you if I'm right or wrong about ,you or your cituation becuase I don't know the whole storey....only you know.
I am almost 47 I make about 300k a year and I have to work harder than the person beside me, because he has the education but then he makes about a tenth of what I make...and says he wasted his time in school. i have another friend Who has a Msters Degree, he is about 10yrs younger than me, he has just realized that I am making ten times what he makes. Money isn't everything but then again, neither is school....Need advice on what to do about current job.?
Sorry. Out of what you've seen here this was the ';best'; answer.

Whatever works for you best financially. If you can wing working part time and going to school full time great or the other way around. The main thing is that you see the need to better yourself and that is a HUGE step.
Best of luck
If you can afford to go to school full time and only work part time then definitely do it that way. It's faster and you will be able to begin a career sooner if you get the schooling done in bigger portions at a time.
